The brief for this project was to build a church and nine flats on a small site in south London. Our proposal blurs the traditional boundary between ecclesiastic and secular architecture by employing a unified approach to the façade on a scheme where the flats are positioned directly above the church. Separate entrances allow for the two uses to co-exist harmoniously.

Each flat has a dual aspect providing good natural ventilation, daylight and views. Slight shifts in orientation are used to create more personable and less-uniform plans.

The material pallet for our scheme uses thin Danish bricks, pre-cast concrete and pre-patinated brass.
