Ivo Carew Architects is a London and South West-based RIBA Chartered Practice founded in 2017. The practice is involved in a broad range of projects and welcomes new challenges. Previously Ivo Carew Architects has worked on private housing, multi-unit housing, offices, commercial spaces and arts sector projects. A number of conservation-led projects, including works to numerous listed buildings have also been undertaken.
Projects are informed by a sensitive approach to place and material. A rigorous design-led process is demanded of each project where historic, spatial and contextual qualities are explored in close dialogue with clients. This design approach is about creating buildings that are both pragmatic and poetic. Architecture that positively transforms the lived experience.
Ivo Carew (BA, DipArch, RIBA, MSc) worked for John Pawson architects over a number of years. Projects included Pawson’s house in the Cotswolds, a residential development attached to the Design Museum, a contemporary art gallery and a competition winning spa, restaurant and hotel.
Climate change and loss of biodiversity are the most critical issues of our time and pose an existential threat to humanity. We believe in building sustainably in a way that has a positive impact on the world around us, prioritising the use of natural and locally sourced materials. We strive to create low-energy, carbon neutral buildings that will last many generations.
